HELLO

A strange song echoed deep within the dark cavern. In the midst of the elves’ cave, a soft glowing light permeated every crevice, soaking into their eyes, in effect causing them to glow bright neon blue.

“Two by two and one by one, we have fun ways to get things done, we search through mazes, winnowing the dirt grub, glowing treasures, light our way back home.”

“That was fun! Zariah giggled. “Let’s sing it again!”

“Wait! shhh… quiet, there’s something out there.”

The elves stood motionless. Their long grey ears attuned to the empty darkness ahead.

“I do say, what wonderful glowing treasures you have found.”

“Gaaaangerrr!”

They all let out a sigh of relief, it was Ganger, their old friend.

“What are you doing here? I thought you were a monster” said Zariah.

“A monster, I do think, this place is getting to you, yes, yes indeed.”

“I have a new story for you Ganger, it’s the best one yet.” Adeem declared.

“Oh do tell, I have been waiting a dragon’s age for such a story.”

“Alright, I will tell you, but you must sit down.”

Loranae and Zariah carefully placed their new found objects on the ground, and sat down cross-legged to listen to Adeem’s story, Ganger joined them.

“It was a dark and stormy night. I was at the mouth of the dragon’s lair, just waiting for my moment…”

“Aaadeeem! Loranae interrupted, don’t make up such stories.”

“We didn’t even make it to Lucky Mountain,” Zariah said.

Ganger looked to Adeem for the truth. Adeem, now blushing, stuttered,

“Ye-yeah it’s true, we found the ball on our way back home, about five kilosteps from here.”

“Five kilosteps! Why your lucky you didn’t get lost.”

“We are all lucky,” Loranae said “we are lucky to have good friends like you to wait and watch out for us.”

Ganger grinned with glee and the four of them set off together down the dark tunnels of the cave with their newfound treasures, Loranae with a giant feather while Ganger and Zariah helped Adeem carry the curious lit ball.
