Now it is time to close your eyes and use your imagination as we travel far from the planet Sparasa to a secret place known only by a very select few. On this distant planet of Mala a creature named Demour, the guardian of space-time, was explaining to Jesse of a mishap which could potentially cause confusion all over the universe.
“Jesse…”
“Yes Demour.”
“We have a situation which calls for your special traveling capabilities. A component of our quantum time-space generating machine has vanished and has spun out of control into the far reaches of space. I need your help in finding it. I have reason to believe that it may have been intercepted by the planet Sparasa in the Hugo star system.”
“Sparasa! The planet inhabited by the cave dwellers?” Jesse asked.
“Yes, that is correct Jesse. Elves live deep within the underground. It is because the caves are so dark that the elves are very fond of colourful glowing objects. They may be able to help us. I can tell you that the elves are sometimes very mischievous. They have been rumored to steal light from other planets, although that is only speculative. It is true however that some of the elves can be very selfish, especially over lost treasures. You must explain the significance of the missing component. I am positive, once it is explained, that they will be reasonable about returning it to me.” Demour paused a moment and then said, “There are some other things you must be aware of.” Jesse sensed fear in Demours voice.
“Other things…?”
“Yes Jesse, dragons. Not only dragons but other giant creatures as well.”
Jesse’s eyes widened and he found it difficult to swallow the trepidation, for he had just remembered all the scary pictures of dragons he had seen in his school books.
“I…ahh...are you sure that I’m the right gnome for the job?”
“Yes, I am certain. You were carefully selected from a large database. I feel that your traveling skills and knowledge of dragons will enable you to achieve success.”
Jesse took a deep breath, and without further ado, accepted his assignment. He rushed off to his ship to prepare for the journey, beyond the galactic star belt, to the distant planet Sparasa.
